I have just read an article from Fiona Anderson, Editor for the Vancouver Sun. She writes about how expensive Aspen Colorado is compared to Vancouver. Have a look!
How can she keep a straight face when she suggests that people in Vancouver should feel almost grateful that property prices are not as bad here as Aspen Colorado. Aspen is a bubble on its own as a playground for the rich. Vancouver is becoming that way as it get's sold off to the highest bidder. I am an immigrant myself and work and live here and find it alarming as to what is happening at the expense of ordinary hard working people who call this place home. We need to challenge this before we all have to relocate elsewhere.
Very short sited article that doesn't even acknowledge the difficulties that people are facing here, the cost of living, low minimum wage, child poverty and homelessness.
I work as a Realtor in the city and I see what people are struggling with. Vancouver is beautiful and it should belong to everyone. Inclusive not exclusive. Articles like this try to justify the greed and irresponsibility of the system here in BC and the problems it is setting up for the future. Wake up Fiona!
