We all know what it is like when your life changes and you have to downsize some of the furnishings you have had for years.
Today I have done just that. I took some big pieces to a great consignment store on the North shore called Consignment Canada on Pemberton Avenue. Run by a really nice and very experienced lady called Angela, she was great at getting back to me and very honest and straight up about things. The furniture included a beautiful large Indian dowry trunk from around 1860 and four large architectural chairs from Indonesia made from old shipwrecks. As we don't live in big houses anymore and our lifestyles have changed, it was time to sell them on and let someone else enjoy them as much as we have.
Above is a snap shot of the original lock pendulums that were hand made. I will miss it but it is definitely time to move on. I am looking forward to a deal being done as it is quite valuable and the proceeds can go towards our road trip or something stylish, compact and bijou for our new apartment. Have a look through your old stuff. You may be surprised at what you find!
